Projects in 2009

Psalms and other poetical texts of Bible will be recorded in year 2010. CD will be produced in year 2011. Part of CD's will be donated to people with sight disabilities.

The aim is to record all biblical books in mp3 format in the future. The New Testament as well as Genesis and Exodus are already available in audio format..

Bibles and books for children together with supplies of basic food will be donated for poor families with children in cooperation with the non-profit Christian charity organization “Raven's Fund” (www.krauklafonds.lv) that support people in need with food. In February 2010 125 000 people had legal status of poor person. Forecast of the Ministry of Welfare states that at the end of 2010 more than 200 000 persons in Latvia will have this status.

New Testaments in new translation will be donate to public libraries in Latvia (in total there are 850 public libraries). A lot of people cannot afford to buy books and they increasingly use libraries. This is a possibility to popularize the new Bible translation as well.

The new Latvian Bible translation mainly is financed by various national Bible societies through United Bible Societies. However economic crisis has influenced not only Latvia but also other countries. Therefore to finish this large-scale project we are in need of more funds and we would be thankful for donations from individuals as well as organizations. Money is needed for last literary correction, typesetting and printing. We are planing to finish the project in 2011.
